Meet Our Team

Ron Doty joined St. Mary’s Health Care Center in 2020 and is a dually Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in both Connecticut and Massachusetts with over 25 years of experience in long-term care. Ron holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix and is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Business. Ron has served on the Connecticut Coalition for Culture Change Committee, and is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Administrators.

Jonathan Gonzalez, RN, joined St. Mary’s Health Care Center in 2025, bringing over a decade of experience in skilled nursing and long-term care. Since beginning his nursing career in 2014, Jonathan has remained committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to residents and their families. He has served as a Director of Nursing since 2019, leading clinical teams with a focus on excellence, accountability, and collaboration.

Jonathan’s care philosophy is rooted in a person-centered, holistic approach that honors the individuality, dignity, and full well-being of every resident. He believes that great care is the result of strong teamwork, compassionate leadership, and a continuous commitment to improvement. By supporting and empowering staff, fostering respectful relationships, and embracing innovation, Jonathan works to create a culture where residents thrive and caregivers are proud of the work they do.

Zhangzhen joined the St. Mary team in May 2025. She oversees the planning and implementation of all mission-related education and integration initiatives to reflect the community’s mission and values, and she regards herself as a chaplain for residents and our staff members.

Zhangzhen earned her bachelor’s degree of accounting from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and her master’s degree of teaching English to foreign language students from Central China Normal University in China. She immigrated to America in 2021 and completed her two master’s degrees in theology studies and spirituality studies, MTS & THM at Boston college in 2024. She also finished her three units of CPE training and continues with her fourth unit of CPE while working at St. Mary’s.

April joined Covenant Health in 2021. April is responsible for implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, ensuring compliance, growth and promote the organization’s values. Overseeing HR systems, employee relations, recruit, train and retain high-performing professional staff. April has over 25 years of Human Resource Management experience.
